This year, the Trendglas Jena range has grown by two new products: the DUO BETA double wall glass and the BASIC storage jar family in three sizes. Both are available from stock, just in time for the autumn and Christmas season.
DUO BETA: proven technology, a new design language
With the DUO series, we didn't just develop new products, we developed a new technology. Our goal was to offer a double wall glass worthy of the premium shelf, in true Trendglas quality. Every DUO glass consists of two high-quality glasses made in Germany, with even wall thickness, fused together.
Why does this matter? Many double wall glasses have a very thin inner wall that can crack as early as the first use. Our DUO glasses are made from machine-formed glass bodies produced in Germany, so the wall has the right thickness at every point. The result is a sturdy, durable glass. Glass is still glass, of course, so avoid knocks, but it handles everyday use with ease.
DUO BETA is the second member of the family, after DUO ALPHA. Same technology and quality, with a new design language. At 0.23 litres, it's ideal for cappuccino, flat white and tea.
Good to know: how does a double wall glass work? There's a sealed layer of air between the two walls. It insulates, slowing down heat transfer between the drink and its surroundings, so hot drinks stay warm for longer. The outer wall doesn't heat up, so you can comfortably hold the glass even with a hot drink inside. Still, sip carefully: the drink itself is just as hot as ever!
The drink seems to float inside the glass, and the colour of your tea or coffee shows beautifully from the outside. That's how DUO glasses bring colour to your kitchen.
Like all our glass products, DUO BETA is made of heat-resistant borosilicate glass 3.3. Even hot coffee or tea won't release any harmful substances from it. It's dishwasher and microwave safe.
BASIC storage jars: smaller size, same quality
Until now, our heat-resistant glass storage jars came in sizes H80, H130 and H180, all 110 mm in diameter. The new BASIC family adds smaller sizes to the range: S (0.18 l), M (0.4 l) and L (0.6 l), all 83 mm in diameter. They come with a tight-fitting bamboo lid, in packs of two.
The smaller size is ideal for smaller quantities: tea, poppy seeds, sugar, nuts or spices. They look great in the bathroom too, for example filled with bath bombs. And since they're stackable, they keep things tidy even in small spaces.
Good to know: not just for the shelf. BASIC jars can go into the fridge with their contents, and straight into the microwave without the lid, because borosilicate glass handles temperature changes. That makes them handy for preparing and serving small portions, even desserts.
The glass doesn't absorb flavours or odours and doesn't release any substances, so the contents stay fresh and pure. The glass is dishwasher safe; the bamboo lid is best cleaned by hand.
Good to know: what does glass made in Germany mean?
You can trust glass made in Germany. It's produced in an environment where every European regulation is followed, from food safety requirements to occupational safety. So our customers know that what they put on their shelves is safe for contact with food and drinks. Find out more about our brand, our glass and our design on the About Trendglas Jena page.
At home, in hotels, cafés and restaurants
DUO BETA and our other double wall products hold their own everywhere, from households to the toughest demands of the HoReCa sector: in cafés, hotels and restaurants, where glasses pass through guests' hands and the dishwasher countless times a day.
BASIC jars are designed mainly for the home. But at the hotel breakfast buffet, they're also a stylish way to serve small quantities, such as jam, honey, muesli toppings or nuts.
