stands worldwide for the combination of tradition, quality and design in the field of high-quality household glassware.
Heat-resistant glass was first produced in 1885 by Otto Schott (1851–1935). With the development of borosilicate glass, he created a universal material that, after establishing itself in laboratories and industry, soon found its way into households as well.
Around 1920, heat-resistant household glass was produced in Jena for the first time. To this day, the name Jena remains synonymous with high-quality glass.
After Schott Jenaer Glas GmbH discontinued production in 2005, parts of the designs, moulds and production equipment were taken over by our group of companies. Since then, heat-resistant glass products – including products made using the original Jena moulds – have formed part of the trendglas JENA range.
trendglas JENA GmbH is part of the Csonkagroup, headquartered in Sopron, Hungary. The group is one of Europe’s largest and most efficient processors of heat-resistant glass. Csonkaglas was a co-producer for the Jena glassworks for more than twelve years.
Today, our premium products are exported directly from our warehouse locations in Sopron, Hungary, and Jena, Germany, to more than 50 countries across five continents. In Germany alone, our products are offered by more than 700 specialist retailers.
Our warehouse stocks in Jena and Sopron enable us to supply our customers quickly and reliably. A comprehensive range of spare parts and a long-term availability guarantee provide a high level of customer convenience while helping our specialist retail partners build lasting customer relationships.
At the heart of our philosophy are high-quality European glass raw materials “Made in Germany”, continuous innovation driven by new technical and technological possibilities, and expertise built on decades of experience in glass processing. Recognised quality certifications provide our customers with additional assurance.
Since 2006, we have successfully presented new products on a regular basis at Ambiente Frankfurt, one of the world’s leading international consumer goods trade fairs.
At the end of 2019, we commissioned one of the most advanced laser glass processing centres. We successfully use this innovative technology in the manufacture of trendglas JENA household glassware, enabling us to offer premium products manufactured using state-of-the-art production technologies.
In addition to the highest quality standards, we place great emphasis on providing comprehensive service. We are happy to support our customers with product design and development, create individual product solutions and offer a wide range of options for customising existing products.
We also respond flexibly to customer-specific requirements regarding packaging and shipping. Our aim is to provide our customers with a comprehensive service from a single source.
We strive to build long-term partnerships with our business partners based on trust, cooperation and mutual respect.
Simple aesthetics, high functionality and impressive design.
The diversity and aesthetics of our products are based, among other things, on articles manufactured using the original moulds of SCHOTT Jenaer Glas.
Our product development team continuously works to create new and interesting products for our customers. Many models are developed from our own designs. In addition, we collaborate with various designers and design studios, including Delphin Design in Germany.
These collaborations have already resulted in numerous products that have received prestigious international design awards.
New manufacturing possibilities, a high degree of flexibility and extensive expertise continuously open up new ways for us to develop and manufacture products of the highest quality.
We also enjoy experimenting with combinations of different materials. Glass combined with wood, porcelain or metal creates new and interesting design possibilities, which we use creatively in our products.
Outstanding quality, functionality and aesthetics are among the most important criteria in the development of our products. At the same time, we focus on designing individual components so that they can be combined as flexibly and effectively as possible.
We are particularly proud that our CONUM FOR ONE received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in 2025.
The Red Dot Design Award has a history spanning more than 60 years. The first jury convened in 1955 to evaluate the best designs of its time. In the 1990s, Professor Dr Peter Zec developed the name and brand “Red Dot”.
Today, Red Dot is internationally recognised as one of the best-known quality seals for outstanding design. The award represents exceptional design quality and gives excellent product design international visibility.
The iF Design Award is also one of the world’s most prestigious awards for innovative product design. Since 1954, it has stood internationally for outstanding design and the successful combination of form and function.
We have received this prestigious award on several occasions: in 2013, our SIGN 0.6 and SIGN 1.2 teapots were honoured, followed by ILLOS and LUMOS in 2016.
In 2009, our SOLO teapot and warmer were named “Teapot of the Year” by German tea specialist TeeGschwendner.
In 2008, the THEO teapot, together with the NOVA cup and matching warmer, received the “Hungarian Handicraft Masterpiece” award established by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In 2009, our SOLO/GLOBE teapot and warmer also received this distinction.
In 2012, the OPUS teapot with wooden lid, glass filter and wooden warmer, the OPUS cup with wooden saucer, and the SIGN teapot were also awarded the title “Hungarian Handicraft Masterpiece”.
Quality & Warranty
An excellent glass base “Made in Germany”, certified quality, the continuous development of our technical and technological capabilities, and decades of experience with heat-resistant glass form the foundation of our high-quality products.
Our products are manufactured from high-quality Borosilicate glass 3.3 produced in Europe.
This special glass is characterised by exceptional chemical resistance, high heat resistance and a long service life.
The material is food-safe and therefore ideally suited for contact with food. It does not react with food or liquids contained within it and does not release harmful substances.
The glass used for our products meets even the highest quality requirements applicable to glass used in pharmaceutical applications. It complies with the relevant requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.), the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and the Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP).
Although our raw material suppliers already hold the necessary certifications, we regularly have the materials used in our products – including glass, metal, wood and bamboo – tested for their suitability for food contact.
The relevant tests and certifications are carried out, among others, by SGS, one of the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification companies.
In this way, we ensure consistently high quality throughout the entire manufacturing process – from the selection and composition of raw materials and the production equipment used through to packaging and transport.
Naturally, our manufacturing processes also comply with the applicable occupational health and safety and environmental regulations of the European Union.
Our aim is to offer our customers products that not only excel in functionality and aesthetics, but also provide the highest possible level of safety when used as intended.
Our production is certified according to ISO 9001.
This internationally recognised quality management standard helps us maintain our high quality standards, continuously improve our processes and ensure a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
The European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) has awarded our glassware the ECARF Seal of Quality based on scientifically tested criteria.
We work exclusively with high-quality raw materials and reliable partners.
Our Borosilicate glass 3.3 comes exclusively from Germany and the European Union. This enables us to ensure that our products comply with the relevant European Union requirements and standards.
Throughout the certified manufacturing process, multiple quality controls ensure that our products meet our high standards in every respect.
Our certificates can be found and downloaded from the ‘Downloads’ section of our website.
Our products are manufactured using machine-made glass bodies. This allows us to achieve excellent aesthetic as well as chemical and physical properties.
In particular, the highly uniform wall thickness provides excellent thermal properties and allows our heat-resistant glass vessels – when used as intended – to be placed directly on suitable heat sources.

Our Borosilicate glass 3.3 is characterised by exceptionally high chemical resistance.
It is highly resistant to water, neutral and acidic solutions, strong acids and mixtures of acids, as well as chlorine, bromine, iodine and organic substances.
Even during prolonged exposure and at temperatures above 100 °C, its chemical resistance exceeds that of many metals and other materials.
Only hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and strong alkalis at simultaneously high temperatures above 100 °C can attack the glass surface and cause glass corrosion.
